Outside the event
I tried to let people know about Brizzlemania in an earlier post I wrote showing the Unofficial Jaylegend vs Koz bonus footage that I recorded at the previous event.
I’ve only been to two Realtalk Battle events, the first one was the Call to Arms event in April. It was a lot of fun and it got pretty wild near the end. This time I think people turned up on time and things went more smoothly. Some people were saying it was one of the best Real Talk events so far.
I’ll get to the pictures and links and all that soon but the real highlight of my night was a chat with another photographer named Tezza, you can check out Tezzas Pix. She told me she has around 10 years experience photographing Australian hip hop events and shared a story about when she first started how the other girls had an attitude like “whats she doing” as if it might be odd to be taking photos. While I can’t really relate to being a female in that situation I can relate to some people questioning my motivation. Sometimes that bothers me but I better not go off on a big rant about it. I did make a video of a quote by Richard Stallman that has always stuck with me. The good thing about it is that on my adventures the people I meet are appreciative of my photographic skills and supportive of my development.

To be honest the photography is nice and perhaps extends the event for a while and gives a nice memoir for the participants but the real action is in the videos so dont forget to check out Real Talk Battle League. I also recorded some video but I might publish it after the official videos come out so stay tuned.
